West Coast House

Nestled into a hill side, this west coast house makes the most of a tight sloping site.  SF Structures designed a stepped foundation system supporting a sloping undercroft to minimise the cost of the building substructure.  The economic foundation solution allowed a higher share of the budget for the more visible superstructure above.  A cantilevering terrace offers exceptional views of the surrounding coastline as you walk out of the large, structural free glazed elevation.  The final solution, a sensitively placed, architectural gem.
