Loch Cottage, Perthshire
Perched on the side of a Perthshire Loch, this derelict 19th century cottage and adjoining 20th century stone byre were in need of some tender loving care.
We assisted Mary and her team from early scheme design to help transform the building into a beautiful, warm and relaxed family home. The original house was delicately refurbished using natural woodfibre insulation, lime plaster and breathable paint. The Terrazzo floor using aggregate from the local quarry was laid throughout the old and new spaces. The slate roof above the open plan living quarters supported on flitch beam, tied trusses constructed of locally sourced Douglas Fir.
