Lochaber House
The house comprises two volumes. The compartmented sleeping quarters were designed as a modern timber kit frame, insulated with breathable wood fibre insulation. The open living quarters were designed as a traditional, locally sourced, Douglas Fir Frame with mortice and tenon pegged connections. The large, open plan spaces were achieved without the need for any steel. Externally the building is clad with shiplap larch cladding and standing seam zinc.
