Located north of the city, mere metres from Portobello beach, this traditional Edinburgh bungalow has undergone internal alteration and a single storey rear extension to form a contemporary open plan living space for the owners.

SF Structures provided structural engineering design and SER certification on the project in collaboration with Daniel Bar Architects. A sustainable timber frame construction was utilised in the formation of the extension with strategically placed glazing units installed to offer seamless transition between indoor space and the rear garden grounds. A very unique ocular shaped rooflight creates an immense sense of height in what is a modestly sized extension. Definitely one for the stargazers..
