Aidan graduated from the University of Sheffield gaining a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering and Architecture with first class honours.

 

He began his career at Civic Engineers in Manchester largely working on the restoration of historic and cultural buildings and spaces in the area. He designed the new primary structure and façade retention scheme to Manchester’s oldest music venue Band on the Wall. He also played a key role in the design and construction of Mayfield park, Manchester’s first urban park in over 100 years, with items ranging from foot bridges to over 10m high play towers.

 

In June 2025 after a year spent abroad, Aidan moved to Scotland and joined SF Structures to work on a broad range of residential and commercial projects, and continue his passion of restoring historic buildings. He is currently working towards professional chartership with the ICE.

 

Outside the office, Aidan is a keen outdoor enthusiast who loves climbing, surfing and especially hiking, having walked the length of both the US and New Zealand. He’s currently tackling his newest goal: Munro Bagging!
